MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Meet your instructor

I’m Shaun Murray and I am a LTA Qualified Coach. I have now been Coaching for over 18 years, with unrivalled experience and enthusiasm for the game of tennis, both playing and teaching.

I started playing Tennis at the age of 17, when my dad ( David Murray) took me to a small, but lovely little club, called Davenport. I fell in Love with the game from the start and then had ambitions to become a Professional player, I became Club Champion, and remained champion for 10 years. I then took my LTA Coaching exams, of which I passed and never looked back.

I had fantastic Coaching Mentors, in Jim Edgar, Mark Furness and Bart Smethurst, who helped develop me as a coach, and as a person, and player. In 2017 I had the Honour of becoming LTA County Coach of the Year. As a Player I had the Honour of training with some World ranked players Johnny Marray, Simon Roberts, Dave Sherwood, to name 3, which gave me invaluable experience of Professional Tennis. I got Player of the Year in 1996 at the Cheshire County Awards. I have achieved an ITF Doubles world Ranking, and won over 20 various tournaments. I have also been invited into the Cheshire County Team.

This is an absolute Honour for me, to represent your Club, County and 1 day hopefully National team

“As A CELEBRATED NATIONAL AND WORLD-RANKED DOUBLES PLAYER, MY TMT APPROACH, HONED ON THE PRO CIRCUIT, will DELIVER THAT EDGE TO TAKE INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS TO THE NEXT LEVEL OF PERFOrMANCE.”

SHAUN MURRAY

As a tennis coach my job is to teach and bring the game of tennis to as many people as possible. I believe coaches should still be developing themselves continually as Players, and as Coaches as this demonstrates leadership. I train 5 days a week in the gym, so I can play the best tennis I can for club and County, and myself in ITF Tournaments. I like to Coach & Teach in a fun style, I am very friendly and competitive, I like to achieve and push myself to achieve, and also the people I coach. I get them to where I hope they can get.
